Sheet doors are a corrugated steel flexible rolling door. They add to the architecture of a wide variety of styles. These were used on a “Tuff Shed” job recently to enclose a shed, protecting against the weather, and providing security and protection for the owner.
You may be familiar with their use on self-storage locations.
Their advantages are security, their low cost, the fact that they do not take up a lot of ceiling space, and their simplicity of use. Disadvantages include their plain-looking design, lack of insulating value (although they can be insulated with a blanket of flexible insulation sheeting on the inside), the fact that some people think they are awkward to use, and difficulty in adding an electric operator to them.
Sheet doors are not made for high cycle use – they are more designed for warehouses where they are not used multiple times a day. But they do have a place. We have installed them on residences where ceiling space is a problem, on mini-storage facilities, in commercial warehouses and many other places – they are a product that is limited only by your imagination!
